Newtown Square Repair Shop
It can be overwhelming to choose an auto repair shop because there
are so many to choose from. Although there are a lot of auto repair
shops, the differences between each one can be quite drastic. There are
three common types of automotive repair shops. They are specialty shops,
chain shops and dealerships.
Specialty shops are garages that specialize in one particular repair.
Common specialties include engine repair and transmission repairs. A car
repair shop that specializes in one certain area of the vehicle is
recommended for major repairs. These shops employ technicians who have
had extensive training in their specialty. Specialty shops are sometimes
more expensive than an average repair shop but the risk of needing
re-repair is minimal.
Chain shops are garages that have stores in more than one location,
such as Midas. This type of repair shop is convenient because there are
several locations to choose from. Another advantage to choosing a chain
shop is that if your vehicle needs serviced out of town you can take it
to a location nearest you and your vehicle’s history will already be in
their system. Chain shops often have an easier time locating a part for
a repair than a specialty shop because more locations mean more
resources. One disadvantage to a chain shop is that the technicians are
often not specialty trained.
Dealerships tend to be the most expensive car repair shops. However,
they also provide the best service. The technicians at this type or
repair shop are the most knowledgeable because they are factory trained
to know your vehicle inside and out.
The choice of which auto repair shop to
do business with can be a difficult one but researching the advantages
and disadvantages of each option will provide you with the knowledge
needed to make an informed decision. Hopefully, by choosing the right
repair shop for you, your auto repair experience will be a good one! |
